An Experimental Design Approach for Validation and Optimisation of Spectrophotometric Determination of Cefixime in Pharmaceutical Dosage Form

Two simple, sensitive and precise spectrophotometric methods for the assay of cefixime in either pure form or its pharmaceutical dosage are described. The method I is based on reaction salicylaldehyde with resulting a yellow coloured product, absorbs at λmax 425 nm. second describes between diazotized drug N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride to yield purple product 567 conditions were optimized get maximum colour intensity. absorbance was found extend linearly increasing concentration systems obeyed Beer’s law within range 2-10 μg/ml 5-25 methods. Common excipients used as additives don’t interfere proposed analytical products stable over 6 h 10 respectively. sensitive, accurate suitable quality control uses.
